There are many different types of arthritis but the most prevalent is the degenerative condition known as osteoarthritis (OA). This is common, especially in an ageing body, and manifests itself by painful and stiff joints.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an auto-immune condition in which the body attacks itself, and thus produces inflammation, pain and stiffness in the joints. A person living with RA will experience flare-ups when symptoms get worse for a period of time, which can make exercise challenging.
